My name is Alyse Knorr, and I’m an editor of Gazing Grain Press, an inclusive feminist literary press. Gazing Grain maintains an online database of publishers and literary organizations who promote socially conscious writing by a diversity of writerly identities, and we are honored to feature Ladies of Letterpress in this list. Thank you for all that you do for socially conscious writing in today’s literary landscape–we love what you do.

I’m writing to let you know about our annual chapbook contest, which may be of interest to your staff and community. We are accepting poetry and hybrid chapbook manuscripts until June 1, judged this year by poet Dawn Lundy Martin.

This contest promotes feminist poetry to and by writers of all genders and sexualities. We are interested in work that explores ideas of identities as connected to gender, sexuality, race and ethnicity, culture, and ability.  We have no one “definition” of feminism and are open to anything.

The winner of the contest receives chapbook publication, contributor copies, and an invitation to read at Fall for the Book (including paid accommodation and continental U.S. travel).  Full guidelines and more details about the press are here at our website.

    Best,

    Alyse Knorr
