Hello, I am wondering if anyone could recommend a source for custom type to be used with a Kingsley Foil Stamping Machine? I believe it needs to be zinc or magnesium. I have many boxes of type that came with the machine, but am searching for an “@” symbol to use when printing email addresses (not as much in demand back when these machines were invented!) Ideally I’d like to get just that one symbol in both an 8 pt and 18 pt size to work with the type I already have, but not sure that will be possible. I would also love to hear of any recommended sources for custom dies, too. Thank you for any help and suggestions!

hey! i am a kingsley-holic. (i even run a facebook page for my kingsley stuff and things.) i think the size that works best are 8 or 10 on 18pt. David at Bell Type in Los Angeles has all kinds of stuff for the Kingsley. let him know i sent you if you get your @ sign from him….. http://www.belltype.com/KingsleMachine.html

WOW! I am so happy to hear from you and to get a response to this post, at last! 🙂 I will definitely be contacting Bell Type and I am going to go to your Facebook page right now and no doubt “like” it!!! Very excited to meet another Kingsley user/fan. So far I am learning how to operate my M-75 through trial and error and really have had no one to contact for troubleshooting. A lot of foil has been wasted in my efforts, I can tell you! Well thanks again and I look forward to chatting & sharing  with you soon!

I have a Howard hot foil stamp machine … is Kingsley type compatible? I’m having a horrible time finding type for my machine (short of buying some new, I guess).

tiffany… the howard machine uses traditional type high typefaces. you are only limited by the size of your type holder. for example, most kingsley machines hole 18 pt type. but there are plenty of other sized type holders, so we are able to use all sorts of typefaces! hope that helps!

Oh, really? Well … then … I have a lot of freedom! Also, an excuse to buy more metal type (I just bought a few typefaces when we bought our Showcard signpress). Aaaah! Maybe now I have too much freedom. Heehee. Yay!

That makes me so happy. And a little giddy.
