I was introduced to letterpress printing at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts when I was 15, through a great program that paired teenagers with book artist mentors.
In college I did two years of a printmaking degree. I eventually switched majors and am finishing my studies in art history at Brigham Young University.
I'm spending a year of my program abroad at the Conservatorio de las Artes del Libro at the LLOTJA school in Barcelona, Spain. Right now I'm cleaning up an abandoned Spanish platen press from the 1940s.
I've been able to intern in letterpress printing and bookbinding. One of the things I'm considering after finishing my degree is an apprenticeship. Please contact me if you're looking!
