Katie and Paul Daniels (husband and wife team) operate Concrete Lace out of their studio in Atlanta, Georgia. They enjoy working from home together, while raising their young family. Starting at four years old, Katie sold her hand-printed cards annually in Foley, Alabama, at the “Art In The Park Festival.” She then dabbled in printmaking while at the Savannah College of Art and Design in the mid 90’s. In 2008, while Paul and Katie were renting a press to print their wedding suite, they also printed the Atlanta postcard series that launched Concrete Lace. They currently own four presses: A Vandercook #4, a Kluge automated press, a Chandler and Price old-style and a Kelsey tabletop press. Designs are all created by Katie, an award-winning art director—along with a few cards that are collaborations with her sister, Carla Kaiser who is also an artist. Katie focuses on things that interest her personally when designing new cards: being raised in the South, the Atlanta community, foreign languages, drawing with a sharpie and humor.
