About Me:
I've been involved with letters for over three decades, from calligraphy with quills, letterpress on fine papers, type design, and letter carving.
Taught at many institutions, including The School of the Art Institute of Chicago 1983-1992; Colorado College; IUAV (Venice Italy); Columbia College Center for Book & Paper Art, etc.
I've had two National Endowment for the Arts fellowships, in 1981 Crafts Apprenticeship Grant for Calligraphy (Studied with Ieuan Rees in Wales for six months), 1986 Design Projects Grant (Digital Type design)
