Ladies of Letterpress Scholarship

Because we care about preserving the craft of letterpress printing, Ladies of Letterpress has created a scholarship fund to help defray costs for members interested in taking classes, working in internships/apprenticeships, go to conferences, or other educational activities related to letterpress. Through this scholarship, we want to assist members as they continually grow, learn, and educate others about… Continue

Scholarship update

The scholarship fund has been growing steadily, and we've now reached slightly over $300! Thanks to everyone who donated items to the scholarship through our Etsy shop, and to the participants of the Old Maid print exchange who sold a deck of cards to Lafayette College Library. Please consider donating something of yours, or creating another exchange to keep this fund going! (Of course, donations directly to the fund would be greatly… Continue

Sad news from Boxcar

You may have heard that Carrie Reagan, Boxcar's office manager and client coordinator, along with her fiancé, passed away earlier this month due to injuries sustained in a car accident. If you work with Boxcar on a regular basis, you probably had spoken with Carrie, and knew her to be pleasant, friendly, and helpful. She leaves behind a four-year old son. getting started

If someone is interested in becoming an apprentice, what are the initial steps? I would like to get involved in the printing business, but are not sure how I will handle things like retirement, Private Health Insurance, and life insurance. ITC American Typewriter: My type of type

I always felt a little embarrassed about loving ITC American Typewriter - not the classy, elegant, or even vaguely hip typeface most designers tend towards these days. Thanks to this article, I don't feel so alone...

Heidelberg Repair Forum

I just had a call from the owner of Heidelberg Repair, Inc., an online forum for Heidelberg helps and repair hints. Once registered on the site, you can read and post questions about your ailing Windmill or KSB, and, down the road, the site will offer press manuals and repair videos too. He said he also has access to a nationwide…
