Hi all - I'm looking for some classes anywhere instructing on the platen press. It seems most classes offer Vandercook stuff. I have a 12 x 18 C & P press.

Anyone know of platen press classes?

Thanks!

We love visitors! And questions - I've got a couple print masters in the shop. We love getting inky & geeky.

I will definitely be by your shop. I somehow ran across your interview video on the web and was so stoked to hear you're hanging up a shingle. Blue Dome is a great area! I have a thousand questions about letter

press, I hope you don't mind. :)

I will be coming to the conference in August! Have a free place to stay with my best friend who's lived there 15 years. At this point I'm becoming an semi-pro with private lessons for he last 2 months. But I hope to learn more when there this summer!

Asheville BookWorks now has one listed, hooray! And it's being taught by none other than our very own Kseniya Thomas - http://www.ashevillebookworks.com/2012/03/platen-press-printing-or-....

The class is scheduled directly after the Ladies of Letterpress conference, so if you're planning on coming to the conference, stick around for a few extra days for this class!

Hi Anna! I see you liked our FB page! I've been so lucky to acquire the wonderful Racheal Dennis here in Tulsa who is a master printmaker and has been training me. We will be offering classes here in Tulsa soon on our 12 x 18 C&P press. Make sure to come say hi during our opening weekend May 17 - during the May Fest & Blue Dome Art Fest!

I got an email this week about classes coming up at UA Ft. Smith! I am still waiting to see details about it. It'll be two Saturdays this summer. Not sure what press(es) they will be using. I can let you know what I find out if you want. I'm in Tulsa too. :)

Thanks all! I'm also interested in flying someone to Tulsa OK & paying them to give me a day lesson if anyone is interested :-)

Atlanta Printmakers Studio offers letterpress classes using 2 Vandercooks and 2 C&Ps -- the classes are one day/night a week for about 6 weeks, so it may not be an option unless you are in the Atlanta area.

Not anywhere close to you, but might be useful to someone else.
