Sorry to hear about your disaster. Oh hot sunny days at outdoor fairs I’ve had some wrinkling / sagging with my clear bags and they were the standard not biodegradable kind. (Also my lino cut cards which have a lot of ink on them sweat!) I think Swan Island Press may not send out their cards in bags, atleast they seem to be displayed without them.

Hello,I’ve used these and found them wanting, but not for the problem you mentioned. I think they’re very frail and break easily, even when you’re inserting cards. And the ones I’ve used can’t be resealed if you have to reopen the card for any reason. Annoying! A great idea, but they just don’t seem up to snuff yet.

Really? Boxcar makes special plates for this machine? That surprises me about them since they seem a little like purists.

This fake-letterpress machine is what lead me to seek out a real press. I saw it (I am a big scrapbooker and card maker) in an art supply store and recognized that its really a hunk of plastic. When I first heard about this I was just shook my head. I think this is more of a child toy than a real printing tool. I’m sure in the coming months you will see a ton of people selling there “letterpress goods”. Boxcar press even makes custom polymer plates for it. My feeling are that this is not a true letterpress machine no matter what anyone thinks.
