Hi Shayna,Cute lobster! So mine looked like that… where it changed the areas of disappearance. What I found as the problem was that I left the rollers on my press all the time (they are SO hard to take on and off). So then flat spots would occur on the taped trucks/rails. Do you leave yours on the press? If not, it could be a myriad of things:…[Read more]

Yup! That’s exactly what happened. The trucks sitting on the rails created a flat spot (they’re taped up so there’s some cushion). That solved the problem!

Good to know!I recently put a clean layer of tape down as well and it seems to help — I’ve got to keep printing for awhile to see if it turns up again but so far so good. I’ve heard good and bad things regarding Delrin trucks and NA Graphics doesn’t recommend them for a C&P press ( he mentioned because of inconsistent inking?) but if yours seem…[Read more]

oh interesting! Chalk! Hm… I’m going to try that.Yes, sometimes ink/ink wash can get on the rails as I’m cleaning up so it could be skidding from that. Thank you for the tip!

Hi Dee,Thanks!I just recently checked all four corners of the press and adjusted accordingly. The impression is even, it’s just that the rollers are not inking up the plate in certain areas. I think I’ll re-tape my rails and trucks to “freshen” it up today and see if that can make a difference. Thank you for helping to problem solve this with m…[Read more]

Thank you for the visual! It’s really great to see. I do not have that rod unfortunately. Maybe I can re-create it. Michael, thanks for the step-by-step. It’s how I am doing it as well but it takes a bit more effort. Or maybe I’m not as strong! 🙂

Thanks! So you let the rollers lay over the ink disc? I’m afraid to do that because there’s so much tension that I don’t want to bend the cores. I have been doing your method of order though. There also doesn’t seem to be much room when I pivot the top saddle to get the second roller in. That’s the hardest one! :)Thanks so much for your help though!

Thanks Kelly! I checked it out and my press doesn’t have that 2” long rod that sticks out. It doesn’t have any sort of tool to help pull the saddles up to place the rollers in.
