The 21st Annual Midwest & Great Northern Printers Fair is coming up in less than a month! Free to attend, the Printers Fair is held in Printers Hall on the Threshers Grounds in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. This was the same location for the 2013 Type on the Cob and is home to dozens of working presses and equipment of various styles, sizes, and age.
Thursday, September 18 | Open House
Printers Hall will be open and those attending are welcome to talk shop and/or start up the presses within Printers Hall
Friday, September 19 | Workshops
Three workshops will be offered Friday. Printers Hall will also be open for projects.
Heidelberg Windmill Workshop, Jim Daggs | FREE
Learn about Windmill operation, maintenance, and moving tricks from Jim Daggs, of Ackley Publishing, home of seven, working Heidelberg Windmills.

Thermography Workshop, Bill Allan and Maryanne Humphreys | FREE
Learn how to operate a thermography machine (raised printing effect) with Bill and Maryanne. After learning on Friday, the thermography machine will be for sale Saturday.

Poster Workshop, Rick von Holdt | $50 ($25 will be donated to Printers Hall)
In this workshop, you will be able to create posters using the expansive collection of woodtype from Printers Hall and print 10 or so posters on an iron hand press.

Saturday, September 20 | Swap Meet 8:00-Noonish
The highlight of each year?s Printer?s Fair is the Saturday morning swap meet. There are generally 25-30 tables jamed-full of type, presses, and all manner of letterpress paraphernalia for sale. There is a $5 entry fee to the swap meet on Saturday. If you would like to reserve a sales table (8? long) the cost is $25 per table and payable to Rick von Holdt at the Printers Fair.
