    The Amalgamated Printers Association is holding the 2013 Wayzgoose in Phoenix, Arizona. Meet old friends and make new friends. This will be an entire weekend devoted to letterpress printing. Activities will include thought-provoking talks, discussions, letterpress workshops along with a large swap meet, auction, banquet and capping things off with a visit to a type foundry. Meet many members of LOL including the founder Kseniya!

    Program Details:

    • Friday – is a fantastic series of lectures and demos all about letterpress printing past and present. Take a look at the main PROGRAM page–IT’S A GREAT PROGRAM and it is coming to Arizona!! 
    • The mysteries of type alignment–Sky Shipley, founder of Skyline Type Foundry
    • Phantom of the archives–David Kent, APA Archivist
    • Printing for profit with handset type–Jennifer Farrell, award winning designer and proprietor of Starshaped Press
    • Kiss and Punch: How ladies put the life back in letterpress–Kseniya Thomas, founder of The Ladies of Letterpress and Proprietor of Thomas Printers
    • Morris Fuller Benton, type designer-fact or fiction?–Rick von Holdt, designer extraordinaire and proprietor of Foolproof  Press
    • Adventures in polymer plates demonstration–Dan Mayer, Studio Manager and Book Arts Printer for Pyracantha Press with Arizona State University and award winning public arts projects creator. 
    • Saturday is your chance to pick up great letterpress equipment and items at the letterpress swap meet in the morning and auction in the afternoon. Saturday events are at the Raddisson at I-10 and Chandler Blvd.
      • Letterpress Swap Meet – 8:00 am -11:00 am
      • Letterpress Auction – 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
      • Dinner and Keynote–Join us for dinner and hear a keynote talk “Seduced by Ink and Type” with John Risseeuw, Professor of Art at Arizona State University where he teaches book arts, printmaking, and papermaking.
    • Sunday – take a visit to the cool pines of Prescott visit the Skyline Type foundry and see hot metal type being cast.
