color logos to polymer

Hi all,
Is there an easy way to take a color logo and turn it into 100% black to send for a polymer plate. I am fairly sure I did this two years ago in Adobe Illustrator, but all attempts have failed!

The easiest way I know is using Illustrator. Is the logo currently vector or raster?
