How did you become a printer?

I learned to print while in art school.

What was your first press?

Chandler and Price Model-N from 1962. It’s still my main production press.

What do you make?

Stationery, wedding invitations, coasters and business cards.

What do you like best about your work or physical shop?
My shop is located in the coolest converted warehouse full of creative businesses. The building managers do a really great job of mixing old and new and filling the hallways with unique art and signage. Almost every time I have clients come in, they always make a comment on how cool my building is.

What do you find challenging about being a printer?

The physicality can be exhausting, especially if I need to pull 12+ hours days.

Who or what inspires you the most? (please provide links, if applicable) Do you have a printing hero or mentor?

Other stationery designers, old print ads, beautiful calligraphy, texture, patterns, city skylines, nature and landscapes. (pretty much anything beautiful or interesting)

I do not have one specific printing hero. All printers are my heroes 🙂

Do you have a printing or business tip that you can’t live without?

Cleanliness is next to godliness. But, seriously, keep it clean people, otherwise you’ll be covered in ink.
