For long term storage it’d be metal or glass.  For medium term storage WAXED paper cups.  Under no circumstances is plastic really good, as the ink solvents will outgas through the plastic, leaving the ink as  a skin on the outside of the cup.  Plastic is good for a day or two, but for more than that, use something else.

I fold it up in a piece of tin foil and tape a little tap-out test on the outside so that I can see what color it is.

I had a mess of ball 4oz jelly jars lying around. they’re wide mouth and shallow so they’ve been great.

I use small rigid business card boxes. They stack nicely on shelves and you can write pantone number + date on the end. Then i smudge some ink on the top edge.

Hi Judith, that sounds very interesting, where did you get these boxes?

I have had good luck with using tubes (sold for paint etc)….

I however love Judith’s idea, they would stack well! Have a photo?

I use 8oz paper cups and label the PMS color with a Sharpie. The ink stays good for a long time.
