Hi! If there is still space I would love to participate! If I understand correctly the exchange has changed from Alphabet coasters to notecards and gift tags? I’m willing to do either.

Found the site. These are blank notebooks. Soft covers. Recycled.
I love them even without anything on the cover. They are in Portland.
    Good luck.

Hi, I’ve been cutting Millboard and Davey board with a retractable blade Olfa knife for years. I have a 15 year old green self healing mat as well. They work really well. I cannot remember the site, but there is someone who makes blank, craft covered notebooks for printers and artists. I’ll see if I can find them.

    Akemi.

From working with dyes and pigments I know that most reds/magentas are very fugitive…they’ll fade well before any other colours. It also makes a difference what quality and density of pigment is used in the ink/dye. I use Van Son rubber based as well and I get direct sunlight into my studio all afternoon and stuff I’ve printed that has any red ink mixed in with another colour usually fades within a year. The red pigment fades and I’m left with the mix of the other colours showing instead. I don’t think Van Son ruber-based was really created considering art based longevity. After all, the ideal paper to print on with is a nice smooth coated stock. Its’ more of an industrial ink.

Perhaps an oil based ink fare better?

This woman has built her own exposure unit in order to process her own plates for letterpress. She has also shared her instructions for making your own exposure unit!

I also make paper as well as print and bind. The main floor of my studio is where I do book binding and printing. I have my paper making equipment and silkscreen equipment in the basement where there is a floor drain. I mainly make cotton rag papers from recycling fabric but I also do tamezuki and nagashizuki paper making with asian bark fibres. I do print on my papers as well as make small sculptural pieces.

    Hi,

May is done and will be posted either tonight or tomorrow.

Since I’m in Toronto, Canada I think I have to pay more to cover the cost of shipping the calendars?

How much would that be in U.S. $? And would it be best to pay you on paypal?

    Thanks!

    Akemi.

Did you try American Printing Equipment and Supply or NA Graphics? You might also try Don Black Linecasting.

    Good luck!
