Inkello is the work of illustrator and designer Christine Schneider, a fourth-generation letterpress printer. She uses a treadle-operated letterpress to combine interesting colors, textures and materials with unique ideas. Type is either set by hand, using old-fashioned metal type, or it’s custom-created digitally and molded into a metal die. Each ink color is another run through the press, so one card may be inserted five or six times in the press before it’s complete. Christy is also a children’s illustrator and author.
