Colleen grew up in a creative family of painters and printers, learning to love the process of making things by hand. In 2004, she graduated from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, receiving a BFA in Graphic Design. After working as a designer for several years, she took a letterpress workshop and was at once smitten with the entire process, learning all aspects of printing and deciding that this was where her heart was. She studied under several printers for over two years before launching her own freelance design and letterpress services in 2009, and then launching her studio, Letter & Lark, in 2012. Outside of the studio, Colleen is happiest while cooking in the kitchen, digging in the garden, collecting pinecones and seashells, watching Jane Austen movies while drinking a good cuppa, and spending time with her husband and her two cats.
