K. Nelson Harper (Katie) holds a BFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, as well as an MFA in book arts/printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her background includes extensive work in letterpress and book arts as well as many years in graphic design in both practice and teaching. She is the proprietor of Ars Brevis Press and has taught graphic design, letterpress and book arts at colleges across the land. She is currently on faculty at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, where she is working on establishing a teaching and working letterpress and book arts facility called Underground Ink.
