Hi. My name is Kyle Durrie. I?m the proprietor of Power and Light Press, a letterpress studio based in Portland, Oregon.I am inspired by a love of paper, lines, history, overheard conversations, logs, whiskey, trains, the color brown, the Wild West, dogs, salt water, road maps, vintage office supplies, and beards, among other things.I?m in the midst of an adventure that I?m calling ?Moveable Type: cross-country adventures in printing?. I’ve built a mobile print shop in the back of an old delivery truck. Within these tight quarters, I?ve created an efficient and fully functional shop, with a small table top press for printing smaller work, and a larger proof press, capable of printing larger posters. I’ve been traveling all over the country visiting schools, art spaces, city parks, music festivals, craft shows, parties, and anywhere else that might have an interest in learning about printing.
