Bio |
Chester Cat Press is very, very small and fledgling, made up of two people: Lindsay Lusby and Emma Sovich. We learned the basics of the art of letterpress printing and bookbinding under Master Printer Mike Kaylor while earning our Bachelor’s degrees at Washington College, but wish to continue printing and bookbinding whatever whimsical projects we think up, using the presses in the print shop at the Rose O’Neill Literary House. We use both lead type and photopolymer plates. We are also both fledgling poets and sometimes these two loves are combined. To learn a little more about us, please feel free to visit Emma’s blog: “The Composing Stick”: http://www.thecomposingstick.blogspot.com.Thread Lock Press is another press made up of just two people: myself and my painter-friend Emily Kalwaitis. We have just one project under our belt so far: an illustrated book of poetry called *Sleight* with three poems of mine and three corresponding paintings of Emily’s tipped in (letterpress-printed and hand-bound in an edition of 50). We hope to have more and similar projects in the future. This book is available in Thread Lock Press’s Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ThreadLockPress See some of Emily’s art at http://www.emilykalwaitis.com
