Bio |
During the fall semester of my senior year of college, I was asked to write a research paper on a topic of my choosing. At the time, I knew little to nothing about letterpress printing?just that I loved the final product. After some initial research, I decided to focus my thesis on the revival of letterpress printing and how it fits into the modern graphic design industry. I read lots of books an articles, watched lots of videos and interviewed a handful of local printers. However, I didn’t think I could really write with authority on about the subject without trying it myself. In October of 2012, I took my first letterpress workshop. I knew fifteen minutes in that I was in love.In September 2014, I became an artist-in-residence at the Genesee Center for the Arts & Education in their printing and book arts shop. I spent that year developing my printing skills, and now I print there as a studio artist and teach their photopolymer class. I started my own business, Milo Nine Press, in February of 2016.
