MINDY BELLOFF produces fine printed book editions and is currently working on a handset edition of the Declaration of Independence as printed by a woman in 1777. She has been creating artwork for over 25 years as a painter, photographer, mixed media installation and book artist. Her books are in numerous special collections, including the Library of Congress, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Victoria & Albert Museum National Arts Library in London. A recent edition received an award for Excellence in Book Design from the University of Texas this February 2010. She teaches courses on the History of Printing and the Art of the Book at New York area universities and nationally as a Visiting Artist. As founder of Studio on the Square, she offers numerous DIY workshops in letterpress printing, book arts, binding and printmaking. Mindy strives to preserve the history of the book while keeping the future of printing alive by teaching hundreds of people this high craft and beautiful art. She brings a high aesthetic and discriminating eye to all her artwork and special print projects.
