I haven’t done any deep impressions, so don’t know about the cracking. They do absorb water, much like the coasters at a bar. But, if you spray them with an automotive enamel (both sides) then they last much longer. I found a triple-thick auto glaze that is like a resin surface, so there’s always that. The auto finishes are better and more stable than artist acrylic gel, which sometimes is too sticky (and not sprayable).

I buy from Katz America, especially square coasters and 4×6 postcards out of the same coaster stock. Have always had a good experience.

Great ideas, Jessica. Reads like you’ve done this before 🙂

Depending on the deadline, I would be interested.

And in answer to someone below who can’t diecut coasters, you can buy them precut, if you want.

I love this idea but I cannot get them done by June 1. How about August 1? Anyone who can get them done early could, but maybe more than just me needs some more time?

If the deadline can be extended, then I am in.

I vote for note cards with matching gift tags, no particular holiday for the group.

    Thanks Jon!

I bought a can, used it yesterday overprinting on an inkjet print. It worked really well and dried in two hours instead of two days or more on a similar project.

Now I need to find someone to take the rubber-based stuff off my hands. Anyone interested?

    Drink coasters would be great!

Note cards would be cool if there were no rules except that they had to come with an envelope 🙂

    But I’m interested in anything.

I would be happy to do more than one letter, too.

I would love to do another alphabet swap. I’ll take whatever letter no one else wants, although I have X ready to go anytime from the last swap.

    So, count me in!

I’m almost done. One more color. I should be able to ship them early next week.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone’s!

Just got my blocks from Graphic Chemical. They are exactly the same Speedball brand blocks as can be found anywhere, 7/8″ high, not type high. Crap.
