I went ahead and purchased an 8oz tin from southern-ink.com, to test out. I just tested it today and it does stay open and dries quick, especially helpful when I miss and I accidentally print on my tympan sheet. I loaded it in the morning… Went to lunch…came back and ran the press. If you want to see a photo, I posted it on my Instagram, http://www.instagram.com/teeneemiI’m also very happy with the pigment. It looks pretty spot on to me. They are offering free shipping on all orders within the U.S. I will definitely have to order more.

I would recommend getting a welder to weld it for you.

there’s a lot of information on briarpress.org. I would recommend checking the site out for tips on press clean up and general printing information. If you are on the east coast, Concord Engraving is the cheapest for photopolymer and mag dies. if you are on the west coast, crown flexo graphics? they are also the cheapest I’ve found.

I’ve had a Pearl #3 and to me it was just as easy and maybe easier to take the rollers out and clean them really well and if you already have them out to clean, then might as well just keep them out. I personally store my rollers in an old sewing drawer with grooves to hang the end of the cores so they don’t touch anything. they just hang in the drawer. I also like to take them out so I can clean the trucks as well. That’s what I think at least. happy printing!
