I originally entered the letterpress field as a writer, though my friends and I spent years hand-making stationery for each other. After being selected for the letterpress printing & fine press publishing seminar for emerging writers at the Center for Book Arts in New York City, I knew I was hooked. What followed were several classes and participation in the open studios at Booklyn Artists Alliance in Brooklyn, NY, where I learned to fine-tune my craft. A three-year apprenticeship at a prestigious New York letterpress studio followed, and now I am happy to say that I have opened my own shop after moving back to my home state of North Carolina.
