600gsm black paper

    Hey guys,

    I have a client who needs his business cards done in thick, black paper.

    The cards will be printed double sided, so I was hoping to do a 600gsm. Also he needs painted edges.

    Does anyone know where I can get such thing?

    I asked french paper, and they only have 300gsm the thickest.

    You’ll need to have the paper duplexed, as you won’t find anything this thick. You can just print both sides on the 300, and then find someone to duplex it (our offset friends here in Chicago are capable so you can probably find someone close to you).

    I found Museum Board or Mountain Board is about the right thickness. 

    I have heard of duplexing, does it cost a lot? I’ve always wondered about duplexing two different colors.

    Crane Lettra. Absolutely THE finest high-gsm paper available. It is LUSH to say the least. But the customer better be willing to pay!! LOL 🙂 It is available in 220 lb 600gsm duplexed cover. IMO the finest letterpress paper available. And at $75 for 50 sheets it better be! 🙂

    That’s what I use for white paper when they want 600gsm. I -LOVE- it!

    But this time the client wants a black paper.

    Maybe I should read more thoroughly LOL 😀 Hmmmm….have you looked for a black blotter paper?
