I just re-read my comment and it sounds really negative! Didn’t mean to be at all! Love my presses, the quirks make it more interesting!

I want to add that we’ve had good luck getting swaps into major library collections in the past, thanks to Vamp & Tramp; our Hello From postcard exchange is in the collections of the Harvard, Baylor, Vanderbilt, Emory, UCLA, and Yale, among others. So keep us posted if you do one, and be sure to make some extras! The proceeds go directly to the…[Read more]

We did it exactly like Kseniya (although in AZ where it is sooo dry – we put the bag in the refrigerator) – we printed a line of cards with large solids…worked perfectly.

Sam. the second picture is of the gripper bar tension spring hole.here are 2 pictures of a press with the spring in place.
the one loop spring is attached to the gripper bar by means of a ‘knuckle’ and the set screw on top locks it to the gripper bar.The screws in the first picture are not original and could be to help support the chase into the…[Read more]

C&P platen is the way to go to start – go with a smaller one. I have a 12 x 18 & 10 x 12 and I use the smaller one daily (Matilda) Beatrice really barely gets inked up – only for posters. pic of them here http://www.letterpressoftulsa.com

I get this question a lot as well. I work with a couple of different local printers for things that I can’t do in my shop, but I focus most of my efforts on pushing the letterpress work. Especially with wedding invites, I find a lot of brides want the invite to be letterpress, but the RSVP digital since it won’t stay with the invite in the long…[Read more]

Hi Cara,I’m interested what others do as well . . . I will sell digital printing as long as the project also includes a letterpress component. I mark up the digital printer’s prices to cover the time I spend ordering, picking up, color checking, etc. Offering digital printing has sometimes allowed me to get a job I wouldn’t have otherwise landed…[Read more]

I have a C&P. They are by no means an easy, fast machine, they take time , patience and care. They have their quirks, sweet spots and are at times very frustrating (especially when printing lines of text) because its age (mine just turned 100) the rails are worn unevenly, and it has worn spots in the shaft. It has taken a year of getting to k…[Read more]

i ASSUME YOU HAVE TRY EVERYTHING i’VE READ, ONE OTHER THING IS YOU CAN CHECK THE POLYMER PLATE IT SELF FOR BAD MANUFACTURING THE PRODUCT. THIS PROCESS HAS BEEN WORKING BUT NOT 100 %. ON YOUR HEATED TIMER ( UV ) LAMP LEAVE THE PLATE IN LONGER AND GO THRU THE PROCESS MORE INTENSE
