We could do postcards and print them on whatever stock works for us, rather than doing postcard coasters (although those of us who might want to print postcard coasters could still do so).

you should measure them and see how thick they are I have coasters that are 2mm as the thickest and 1.4mm as the middle then there is even a lighter (thinner one). So the thinnest or medium might work just for future referenceThough we could perhaps do a non coaster version?

Yes they were too thick – wouldn’t make it through it all. Got them on the web and never thought about them being different thicknesses. So now I have 100 in a box and never revisited the idea.

I picked a whole box of 8.5×11 chipboard some time back at Xpedex for a reasonable price. That might be an option if you have one of them in your neck of the woods:)

Did the coaster not work because there were too thick? I have some medium weight ones that are not as thick that might work on a vandercook. Angela

I’m in depending upon project. I have access to a Vandercook and the coasters just didn’t work. If the consensus is coasters – I’ll wait until next time! Thanks.

You could have a die made and convert them yourself. If you work with a printer who does more automated things they can probably even have them made with adhesive.

Graham, It really depends a lot on what type of press you have, how big the stock is you’re trying to print on, and what type of impression you’re trying to achieve. I’d recommend getting samples of whatever you’re trying to print on and see what kind of luck you have. (It’s pretty easy to request a book of swatches of the Rising, and they come in…[Read more]

I’ve been looking at Rising Museum Board. Thought it would be cool to do business cards on their ultra thick 120pt stock. I’ve heard it is difficult to print on very thick papers such as these. Is it possible to do such a thing? I’m a total newb with all this stuff so thanks for the advice!

I might actually want half a case for future projects, too, which is why I’m also interested in where you get them.

I buy coasters in bulk – have to buy it by the case of 1000 though. Im happy to buy a case(s) and split it out among those interested. How many coasters would everyone want? A sleeve is 125 for medium weight , that gives you a few to experiment on and would be easy for me to ship out to anyone who wanted to buy them from me. Though I could do…[Read more]
