what kind of paper are you printing on? i’ve had problems with ink never drying when i was printing on good ole regular cardstock. using a cotton or rag based paper worked better.good luck!

Opening day was a little slow last year, and then things picked up . . . closing day is only from 9-12, so people seemed a little more rushed to see things, place orders, etc.

@thedarkstamper Hi Dark Stamper,
I recently just purchased the two Adana’s that I have. Both came from England and I purchased both on Ebay. The Adana 8×5 is the prefect table top press for a beginner or someone who can’t purchase a huge press for the moment. It is is easy to work with and can do the job. If you need to do deep impressions it can…[Read more] -

@thedarkstamper I will definately be your letterpress friend although I am at a bit of an empasse right now. I recently had a studio constructed in my back yard to house my Chandler&Price and my neighbor complained because we are in a flood zone (strict rules) so it will be a while before I can get things up and running I have to get things…[Read more]

Thank you for the feedback. I am still trying to work it all out, but this definitely helps 🙂 I know I am going to stumble quite a bit, but I don’t want to go in completely blind.

I think the first thing you need to ask yourself is how do you plan on selling your items. will you have an online shop, sell at festivals are you trying to do wholesale.You also may want to consider the cost of letterpress dies, paper, envelopes and packaging supplies this may also help dictate how much you are going to print at once.If your only…[Read more]

I have tried them, and wish that I liked them…. they are sort of crunchy and tear easily (there is a discussion on them somewhere in the forum).Maybe I’ll just have to switch to no bags…. I hate the thought of them all going to the dump, or worse, the ocean as soon as they are taken off of the cards.oh and you know Neenah paper has some good…[Read more]

I saw the post on those Caligo inks…and once I get a letterpress, they are on my list of things to try! I’ll have to keep looking for replacement/biodegradeable packaging.Have you tried these biodegradable bags?http://www.clearbags.com/card-reference

I’m pretty excited about Caligo inks, which clean up with soap and water-If you find a way to replace plastic bag and boxed packaging let me know- that’s my latest search

Thanks for the comments, glad you like our stuff! I just found that you were asking about “green” letterpress. We also offer this at our press. We use soy inks, paper with high PCW/windpower etc. But we also print with traditional inks – oil based inks. Honestly there isn’t a huge difference printing with soy vs. oil. They both are ink. Oh and…[Read more]
