Is it just the M G that foil stamps? You won’t need to do a knock out if you use wax free ink. I can foil it for you very inexpensively, contact me

You will need to do a knock out. Good luck as that certainly looks challenging to print with the fine lines. Please post a picture of the finished card.

Does anyone have pictures of the Mohawk and LoL “What are you making today” prints? I sent mine in but couldn’t make the conference this year and would love to see some photos of what others made.

Take a picture of your unknown type and post it. You could sell your unwanted type on here.

I wouldn’t print a logo on a wedding invite, but I would on a greeting card, although you might get by with a very small “bug” on the back of a wedding suite.

Camille Robin replied to the topic what to do with wedding text plates in the forum Business Matters 12 years, 5 months ago
You could make a shadow box with the plates and an original printed wedding suite as a keepsake and heirloom for the bride and groom. You could charge something for your time, effort, and materials for the boxed set.

Good eye Kelly, on the gripper catch. Springs should only be a couple of dollars. You might have to try a couple different ones until you find the right tension. I use 30W non detergent motor oil on my presses. Any gas station will have it. A quart would last you a very long time. You will need an oil can to put it in. The hardware store will also…[Read more]

Your local hardware store should have springs, you may need to cut them to the proper length. Buy some washers to put on the ends of your rollers so they don’t shift. Bring a spring, shaft and roller with you to the store. You will have a hard time getting a good solid impression unless you put something in your CD cases. Cut some chipbo…[Read more]

Camille Robin replied to the topic Old (very old) Ink in the forum News and Announcements 12 years, 7 months ago
You should be able to use the ink you have. If it is oil based there will be a crisp, hard top on the ink. Just remove it with your ink knife and the ink under it will be fine. If it is rubber based there might be a some skin on the top if it is as old as you say. Same thing just remove the top skin and you are good to go. Good luck and happy printing!

Bunny,It looks to be a nice press. I don’t see rollers, trucks, grippers, or gripper rod assembly. Do you have any more photos? The paint should be okay, on the platen could be of concern…it might chip off and cause unlevel areas, the thickness of the paint will definitely change the height of your .918 type high base/type/cut. “The screws” ar…[Read more]
