I have same problem, the square bit across the top is always gaping. I found an awesome on on Etsy from misohappi http://www.etsy.com/shop/misohappi?ref=seller_info.It had a gathered neckline (Pic attached) I love it! Although its a tad dirty now… I just looked at her shop and she doesn’t have the design there anymore but gathered neck is the…[Read more]

I use Balune tape. Its a roll on double sided tape. Works a treat on standard card stock seem sok on cotton but test first.

@chantalaudreyvonwattenwyl Hi Chantel. I have no idea where to get a Golding Pearl from. They are popular in the US but for all I know I have the only one in Australia! – I’m sure that’s not the case but there aren’t many presses at all in Australia.

davina farinola replied to the topic Deep Impression vs. Kiss Impression in the forum News and Announcements 12 years, 7 months ago
Recon it depends on the design. There is a great discussion on the Golding Pearl group/forum that says that the Pearls can handle no more than 1/8 of the platen in ink. I just test pressed a design on my Pearl OS #3 that was type and line art onto 600gsm Cranes Lettra and it made an awesome pillowy deep (too deep in my opinion as it punched…[Read more]

davina farinola replied to the topic Full Color Business Cards in the forum Press Troubleshooting, Tips, and Help 12 years, 9 months ago
Ahh thats the beauty of letterpress! But perhaps give them a double impression? Ie: leave the card in there and let it cycle through the press twice? This can change the colour or make the colour shade darker so be aware of that. Good luck!

Thanks Gary! This is great advice! Its amazing (and frustrating) the difference stock makes. I agree, the finish the plain non-cotton stock makes is awesome. It seems to make the ink so much brighter! I even prefer the way metallic inks look on plain old kraft (they look like nothing on lettra) its always a surprise seeing how everything interacts…[Read more]
