Wow, love the storage for the rollers! If my husband is still talking to me when all is finished maybe he’ll make me one! BTW, Happy Mother’s Day for any of our L of L moms out there.

My husband has some sheet metal in his shop and said he’d cut out the liners. Linoleum would solve the issue of sharp edges. What a great idea. Thanks Val

Nancy, your pictures are great! Love the cabinets! I’ll only have shelves :0( A funny thing happened after looking at your pictures…I went back and on graph paper put everything in place with its perspective size. Within 5 minutes I announced that we didn’t have enough room and we are adding additional space…before we ever started. Strangely…[Read more]

D N K replied to the topic Magnetic base vs "Boxcar" base in the forum Type 13 years, 6 months ago
Jessica, thank you for replying. For all the reasons that you all have mentioned I had decided to go with a deep relief boxcar base. My only problem is seeing if I can make embossing plates with the thicker pp that the deep relief requires. Budgetary restraints will only allow one base, at the time, and not both. Can the KF 95 be used on a deep…[Read more]

D N K replied to the topic InDesign or Illustrator? in the forum Design Side 13 years, 6 months ago
Thank you Davina for your insight. I will order the suite. I only know, barely, how to use the pen tool. I was told that a line width of 2 pts is minimum for a poly plate. Do you confirm? I would love to learn the limitations of a line drawing as processed in a plate. (i.e. line width, adequate space between lines (bridge?), and the best file…[Read more]

I come from a raster background…Corel Painter kicks bootie hands down!- for painting. Illustrator’s pen tool rocked, but I had read that InDesign was better with digital font when applied in letterpress…so I was curious. Thanks for sharing your experience Bev.

I had searched briarpress and found a thread. Hopefully someone will reply with dimensions for a drip tray. I hadn’t looked at fiveroses recently. Their site is so overwhelming I get off track every time I visit the site :o) I will search for coaster/wheel use in both places. Thank you.D

The visual definitely helps. Thank you Camille! Is there a disadvantage in having the press on coasters? I was contemplating them secured on the skid? I thought when they’re bringing the presses in, it would be the best, if not only, time to convince the strong backs to help. Opinions, anyone?D

Thank you Lars, that does help. I will get a deep relief base from Boxcar. Not only is there a savings, but for my C & P it seems a better choice. I appreciate your help.Dee

Boxcar offers the following info, which for obvious reasons, makes their plate sound like a better choice. I was just wondering if there’s a lady out there with the magnetized base to get their perspective. Thanks y’all. http://www.boxcarpress.com/boxcar-base/switching-from-magnetic.htm

Thank you Samantha. I’ve tried them. Their entry level is $8,400. They used to carry one for $5k. A used one might be more in my price range.
