Bio

My name is Hope Johnson. I’m from a tiny Mayberry type of town near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I’m about an hour and a half from New Orleans and a three hour drive from the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. From an early age, I became obsessed with paper. I spent hours making cards and banners with my fancy “design” program, Printshop Delux? Who remembers that one? It was no surprise that I ended up with a degree in Fine Arts focusing on design and printmaking. When it comes to wedding stationery, marrying both a traditional and whimsical design is on my top five favorite things. You like it. Your mom likes it. Winning. When it comes to designing a custom baby shower invitation to match the nursery, or designing a custom birthday invitation to match your theme, it makes me want to become a party hostess. Although, I think I’ll stick to stationery design. When it comes to hosting birthday parties for my own little ones, rearranging furniture, stocking up paper goods for my shop, or simply designing a client’s perfect wedding suite, my only goal is to finish with a pretty product that you will admire and love forever. When you can see and feel the hand behind the artist through a product, that’s when I know I’m doing my job right. THE little BLUE CHAIR has been a passion unfolding itself right before my eyes. To bring back the hand written letter, the mailed invitation …that’s my dream. That’s one more tactile sentiment in place of an email, kicking it back old school. Because we have enough new school thrown at us daily, it’s nice to have something timeless every once in a while.
