While my background is in Graphic Design, I have always,admittedly,been drawn more towards the hands-on aspects of design, and much of my work is thus influenced by hand-lettered type and colorful illustration. This, combined with a penchant for papers and handwritten correspondence sparked an interest in letterpress that has, for several years now, been steadily growing. From the moment I first stepped onto the trade show floor for the 2007 National Stationery Show, bearing my student badge and asking questions of anyone and everyone who was kind enough to lend an ear, I felt an instant thrill that continues to inspire me to this very day.This Fall I’m interning this fall with Kseniya Thomas in her fantastic letterpress and design shop ? Thomas- Printers? learning this ancient craft that I one day hope to use in my own studio design work.
