    Hi Alan

A chase made out of Brazilian Iron Wood sounds (and looks) brilliant! Where do I go on your website to purchase such a chase?

    Hi Alan

Will you also be able to create Chase Beds/ Chases for other models of table top presses? I’m fixing up a Golding Official tabletop No. 3 which is largely intact barring its missing chase – and I’m not having much luck finding a chase.

That is my thought as well – I am hopeful that John Barrett at Letterpress THings might have the replacement piece available in his warehouse.

I am also slightly concerned about the possibility of accidentally damaging the gooseneck in the process of removing it though. Apparently (and I quote) the Model “O” makes this a challenge as the shafts, if original are peened over at the the ends and will not pass through the parts without great care. I have no idea what peened means – aside from the possible double-entendre- but it does not sound simple.

Yeah its a weird place for a shipping related break – but the gentleman I purchased the press from has been a standup guy about replacing/repairing the gooseneck so I’m erring on the side of believing the shipping exacerbated existing damage that this guy didn’t notice maybe?

Indeed- I’ve heard that John Barret of Letterpress Things in Chicopee might be a good person to approach on such matters.

Yes indeed- I am very happy about the little Kelsey. 5 X 8 is a little small- but its big enough to handle business cards, greeting cards, and most stationary. Eventually I’ll probably need to expand to a slightly larger press, but this is a good starter machine from everything I’ve been able to determine – and with a little practice I should be able to manage good registration with my little machine.

I have even (tentatively) decided on a name for my press 😀

    Hi Camille

Thank you so much for the link- I have been looking around for where to buy rollers and these guys definitely look good.

    Hi Susan

Unfortunately I got outbid at the last minute on ebay for the Morgan (kind of bummed out by that I will admit). On a happier note, I found a nice little Kelsey 5X8 on ebay for a decent price and have purchased it (its missing the rollers but nothing else- and even has some of the original paint left). Barring disastrous shipping issues I shall soon be in possession of my first press!
