Stitch Labs sounds like exactly what I’m looking for. Allows to keep track of expenses and inventories. And very moderately priced. Great suggestion. Thanks.

Take a look at Stitch Labs or Freshbooks. I haven’t used either but they seem popular among the small business and craftier types. Both are web-based.

Place crop marks and registration marks on the plates for each color and then line up the marks. Also, depending on the work, check out the two color one plate video: http://www.boxcarpress.com/community/letterpress-training-video.html

I’ve been using a Wacom tablet for 8 years, don’t use a mouse at all, love it! Best to use it with illustrator or photoshop to draw, indesign is good for layout though!

Thanks so much! I did a look through Finish Finder (great resource!) but didn’t have much luck. I am really happy to know about Hodgins though. Many thanks!

I use Hodgins Engraving in Batavia, New York. They have both gold and silver foil, and it’s super shiny. There’s also a helpful site called Finisher Finder that allows you to search for people who do things like gilding, laser cutting, thermography, etc.

I was previously using Nostalgic Impressions, but have found it necessary to find an alternative source. I recently got a sample pack from Wax Works (http://www.waxseals.com) and thought they were lovely. I will likely order from them next time, although they are in Canada.

Thanks, Bianca. I think the peel and seal ones will be the best for this project. Do you have a good vendor that you use for those?

You may have already figured this out, but USPS just adds $0.20 to the postage since it’s non-machinable with the wax seal. And the real wax seals will break, so I always use the faux wax with the peel and seal option. I’ve used the faux seals on the exterior as well.

I use Boxcar. I’m only a few hours away from them so if I place an order Monday morning I can get my plates on Wednesday
