Bunny Bear Press replied to the topic neon /flurescent in the forum Design Side 11 years, 1 month ago
I just saw the question about cotton paper. I did a business card on Crane Lettra 110# and another on Reich 236# with that same PMS 812. They are actually a lot brighter in person.http://bunnybearpress.com/portfolio/businessandcallingcards/bunny-bear-press-qr-code-cards/If you want to go fluorescent I would recommend a whiter paper to get the br…[Read more]

Its not as bright as you think it would be. Here is a link to a couple of journals I made with PMS 812 and 540.https://www.etsy.com/listing/161460553/letterpress-blank-journal-pinwheelhttps://www.etsy.com/listing/161459053/letterpress-blank-journal-heart

Bunny Bear Press replied to the topic Heidelberg Letterpress classes? in the forum Business Matters 11 years, 2 months ago
Hi Melanie,I did not. Currently I am printing on a 10×15 C&P and don’t have plans at this point to print on a Heidelberg. Do you have a Heidelberg that you don’t know how to use? Or were you hoping to learn first and then purchase your machine? You may want to contact either Pratt or SVC and see if they can point you in the direction of a teacher. Adina

Hello,I am thinking about doing a large run of thank you notes and am looking for something more cost effective than the Lettra, and something that folds a bit better. I am just wondering if you ever came up with a solution for this? Thanks!Adina

I wonder why I wasnt sent an email with these replies! Thank you everyone. The weird thing is, I think it is my rollers on my C&P. I even took a ton of ink off the press and was still getting the splotchy coverage. I tried it on my 3×5 Kelsey and the ink coverage was great (no impression to speak of though). I had some soy based ink custom mixed b…[Read more]

Thank you Camille, after doing a bit of research and following your pricing guideline I decided it would just be too expensive to ship this press so I am going to keep looking for something more local to me. This one was a 12×18 C&P. I am going to keep an eye out for either a 10×15 or 12×18 and see what comes up here in Seattle. Thanks again!Adina

Hi Jen,I am interested in your baby oil method. I had heard of using Crisco but not baby oil. I had heard that Crisco is really good at getting the ink off the rollers and keeping them from drying out between print runs, but is not good to have on your rollers when you are first putting ink on the press (they use mineral spirits for the quick…[Read more]

Will someone be filming this to put up online? This seems like this information would be a great topic to cover for the greater good on the LOLP website since there are a lot of tabletop press owners, myself included, that wont be able to attend to the conference.

I have no personal experience with this as I am currently awaiting my “starter kit” for my new little 3×5 Kelsey. But I ran across these things called roller bearers which sound like they might be just the thing you need for your ink coverage problems based on your description. I found them at http://excelsiorpress.org/reference/presswork/smallpres…[Read more]

How would you compare the quality on the composition rollers versus the rubber ones? I had not heard of this company before and I am interested to see what the difference is.

You could have a die made and convert them yourself. If you work with a printer who does more automated things they can probably even have them made with adhesive.

Thank you for your honesty. This will be my first press and I want to make sure I am getting one that will serve my purposes for years to come. I would love to get a C&P but I am having trouble finding one. I guess I will just keep hunting.
