@chelseaphillips Hi Chelsea. The client for this test project decided to go in a different direction, so I never printed these en masse. I will look to see if I still have the test sample. It still looks like chalk on a blackboard, but white is so much more vivid on only this paper.

Most white on black turns out like painting milk on a blackboard, with one exception I have found–using Van Son Opaque White on a paper called “So . . . Silk” produces amazingly opaque results. For some reason, the ink has an affinity for the paper. “So . . . Silk” is available through Legion Paper (or http://www.letterpresspaper.com).

Only oil-based inks are stable in laser printers after a minimum 24 hour cure. I have used Van Son oil-based for letterhead stationery and my customers report no problems. Lettra will safely go through laser printers provided the printers will accommodate that that thickness (most laser printer manufacturers recommend nothing over 90# . . . L…[Read more]

Add a piece of offset blanket below the tympan paper and a few packing sheets–virtually eliminates makeready!
