I recommend Atlantic too! There’s also a new paper from Manifesto Press called Holyoke Fine Paper–it’s 140#, and it comes in three whites. I’ll put up a blog post about it early next week, but you can check it out on their site:http://holyokepaper.com/

You ladies are the experts and use gsm weights so not sure if my comment will be relative. I’m still using # paper weight understanding. Crane has a 268# stock that is perfect for deep impressions on both sides. I’ve designed several letterpress business cards with deep impressions on both sides on this stock and love it. Have done several…[Read more]

You can also get 600 gsm paper from Atlantic Papers. They can duplex 2 300gsm Copperplate sheets together and I think Copperplate comes in a warm white. Atlantic Papers — 800/367.8547 (super nice folks)

@mariannedages Marianne! Hello! I signed up to this so I can participate in a project with a teacher and friend I know from Baton Rouge (check out Kathryn Hunter’s page, the Old Maid project). I havent had a chance to update much on my page because I have been finishing up my second semester at LSU. Which is good and weird. I was at Penland last…[Read more]

Hi Rachael,I was having the same problem with the form rollers changing height down the length of the bed. The guy that came out here to fix the problem found that the bearing height was to blame and that they needed to be adjusted. If you have the manual they are parts x-12229 and x-12232. The eccentrics on the outside are what he adjusted. It…[Read more]

I also get back pain from working on the press, and I’m definitely not very well endowed. It seems like something that just comes with the territory – the repetition of printing. I built into my business expenses time with a massage therapist once or twice a month, especially at the end of a really intense week. This seems to help. I also try to…[Read more]

When I was pregnate I wore a belly band for support. It is made of wide elastic and velcro. It wraps around your lower back and belly. I still wear it for lower back support, which could help you; or remember those old bra’s that went all the way to your waist? Good luck

Yeah, it may not be sexy, but if it helps you print until your reduction, a supportive brace might be the way to go. :-/

oh yes… I stand on a mat and I have some serious braziers. Sadly I either have to go to a specialty store or order them from Europe. All those standard ‘full figured support bras’ are too small. I am starting to think I need some sort of a support brace but who wants to wear one of those things? Yuck.I don’t know what I will do if I can’t print…[Read more]

Maybe get a special supportive sports-bra-meets-playtex-18hr-bra? Something to hold the girls up and shoulders back? Are you using one of those anti-fatigue mats?

I’m with ya girls, i had a similar experience. It felt terrible. I also ask where the design came from before moving forward. Really lucky to have caught that one, Kseniya. Good job! Just because I might be cheaper than other big presses, doesn’t mean I will print their designs. what are those people thinking?

Thanks Ladies!I just ordered some from Crane, so we’ll see how long it takes to get here. I worked with Legion many moons ago, so I’ll check them out as well.

I have been ordering sheets from Legion Paper, their pricing for me is better than Crane direct, but I usually order envelopes from Crane because that pricing is better than Legion.
