I don’t know about packaging (beyond good old Uline), but I do know that the rubber ink won’t run! It takes longer to dry, but is as hard as anything.

oh, and to add a quick question to this. If I print on the coasters with rubber ink, will it run if the coasters get wet. I’m assuming not, but want to be sure.thanks!!

We had something like this at the first shop I worked in; I think they were just waxed paper, so we ended up cutting a bunch of our own. It did seem to work… at least keeping it from completely crusting over! Let us know how these ones work!

I’d agree with what everyone said. I think there’s a certain amount of serendipity when it comes to getting a press and in my experience, what I have needed has fallen into my lap. Finding a press on the other side of the country might not be the best idea as you have to factor in physically getting it, even if it sounds like a great press. The…[Read more]

@maiarigas hi Maia! yes, I remember you…and congrats on your booming printing business! Your stuff looks great. I just finished my first fine press book (in Dec) and am teaching Book & Paper, Drawing and Design Concepts at a local college. I have 2 teenagers…yikes. They are great boys though. I never made it to Paul’s shop. How is he???

Hi Christie,I’m no expert, but all of the folks I talked with when I began my search said the C&P Pilot was an excellent starter press. The unfortunate drawback is that they?re in very high demand, so if you can find one, they?re ridiculously expensive! I recall seeing one on eBay recently?completely restored and beautiful, for a couple thousand…[Read more]

Okay I have an idea and a possible solution. I just need some feed back from the wonderful ladies of letterpress. (Kseniya help if I am not posting this were everyone can see). I am talking to a box company that is here in the bay area, and I told her my woes. I had a thought…what if this box company would take orders from a list of available…[Read more]

They get boxed separately, most of the time. Sometimes I just wrap them in matching paper . . .

Amber Seguine replied to the topic Packaging… in the forum Business Matters 16 years, 5 months ago
Does that include the envelopes? or do you box those by themselves?

They are big enough–I get the 8x8x4 ones, which fits about 100 A7 invites, and then fill the empty space with cornstarch peanuts or zigzag paper.
